Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who is representing Abia North Senatorial District at the National Assembly has called today for a thorough investigation into the tragic explosion that claimed scores of lives in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to Kalu, "such a tragedy would have been averted if caution was taken by those responsible." He condemned the explosion and seek for thorough investigation.
Recall that Temmy Times reported on Tuesday 16 January, 2024 that an explosion happened in Bodija, Ibadan, and the cause of the explosion wasn't initially disclosed by the right authorities. Now, it's been reported that the explosion was caused by "Illegal Mining Activities".
However, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu insisted that further investigation will into the sad event would prevent future occurrence. "Government must bring to book the perpetrators of the ugly incident in order to prevent future occurrences," Kalu cited.
In a move to show condolences and support, the former Governor, who is also Ashipa Seriki Mayegun of Ibadan land, urged the government of Oyo State to work with appropriate authorities at the federal level to bring succour to the victims of the tragic incident.
