12 still missing in Niger boat accident, says NSEMA

In the accident, eight bodies were recovered, 11 were rescued and 12 people are still missing.

Three days ago, boat accident happened in Niger state, Nigeria. Since then, 12 people are still yet to found. The Niger state Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) disclosed this yesterday, Wednesday 17 January, 2024.

NSEMA confirmed that Saminu Hamidu, Aisha Usman, Hausi Hamidu, Zaida Mohammed, Fatima Ibrahim, Hajara Alhaji Kabiru, Hauwau Bala, Bello Ibrahim, Arisa Alhaji Aliyu, Amina Ibrahim, Azeema Usman and Happy Ibrahim are still missing.

However, the Agency had rescued 11 people – Mallama Adamu Babangida, Bello Usman, Bawa Alhi Ayuba, Danyarbawa Danmanyan, Umaru Alhaji Mainasara, Rufayatu, Ladidi, Abdullahi Abduakar, Isah Suleiman, Rakiya Abdullahi, and Sakina Ibrahim in the boat accident.

The accident occurred around Tungan Leda in Borgu Local Government Area. Eight bodies had been recovered and dead passengers included five females and three males.
